Hi Guys,
I've performed the firmware update 1012.6 for my HW-Q90R soundbar via USB drive. (currently doesn't work with smarthings app)
Given that there is no official statement from Samsung with the details of the update I would like to check with the community what new features have been included.
Also how should be the list bellow if the firmware 1012.6 is correctly applied to all components ?
Thank you
M 0133.0
B 1012.6
H 0051.0
FD 0040.0
W 0240.0
S 0136.0
RR 0136.0
RL 0136.0

If you push and hold down one of the buttons again while it's on or off you will see shop 6 and I believe you can change it to shop NG I happened to stumble upon this at the moment I can't remember how to activate it again

With the power off on the soundbar volume down as you were decreasing it and hold it you should see shop6 or NG

Buyers beware... This new firmware has corrupted the Q90r subwoofer, so drastically, that it now sounds like I bought this $1500 unit for my grandma, and plays it like she lives above the church she attends ever Sunday while she's watching 2nd grades as they are on nap time....THAT is how loud this sub is now.... Samsung.. Fix what you obviously now know or have known about. As a long time customer and supporter to your products.. Do it for the people who are supportive to your products... This is a big disappointment.

@mauromol thanks for the suggestions. Unfortunately it is not possible to re-apply firmware.
I'm pretty sure you can repeat the upgrade process, at least partly, when using the USB method. Indeed, the upgrade process is split into two steps, the main unit upgrade and the subwoofer/rear upgrade (see Samsung instructions). You may try to repeat the whole procedure, with particular regards to the second part of the upgrade process, to see if anything changes.
Also, did you check the soundbar EQ settings within the SmartThings app? You can tune it from there, in addition to the -6/+6 sliders you have on the physical unit.

@mauromol I can assure you I tried all the suggestions mentioned. There is big difference between 'update process' and 'partial update process'. I tried the 2nd part of the update process too, but as expected that did not change anything.
In regards to the EQ settings -> That does not really fix it. It amplifies certain frequencies, but not the fullness of the bass effect (which is described as relative frequency response and not absolute amplification). It feels like they have tweaked the EQ and simply trimmed down certain frequency ranges.

That's the beauty of smart things, its an all in one update and does not require a 2 part update

Adjustments to the EQ only focus on the sound bar itself.. The bass control on the soundbar again is strictly for the soundbar... It obviously is a frequency change done by samsungs update.. And if buddy can't tell the difference.. You should go buy a Sanyo or a RCA.

I believe you @Pipes and you're right about the EQ settings behavior. It's also very dodgy when a company does a frequency change of the sorts after a product has been released and out for a while. Why not communicate about it, why not just give us more control if you're in there changing stuff like this anyway so people can tweak this supposed flagship more.
It's also telling that we need to receive firmware changelogs from underground sources, through forums from people working at samsung, just to mention something else.
This series of soundbars sounds great when everything works well, but the working well part is missing too often to actually enjoy the stuff. Sort of makes you want to settle at a different brand that gets 90% of the sound quality at 0% of the issues doesn't it.

I assume that Samsung was getting many returns of blown subs for people that didn't know how to tweak their systems properly and the service departments were fed up putting a cap or like driving a car with a governor on it this will prevent people from many returns I guess it makes sense from a business perspective definitely 4 warranty lots of them will now be handled

It's a great sound bar fantastic sub that can hit as low as 25 Hertz as I've tested I think people just need to understand how speakers and gain levels work but truth be told there definitely was an issue with the sub when the firmware was applied if people are having static popping noise sounding like it's coming from the sub and flowing into the rears I believe if you change the frequency channel on the sub you might solve this issue or keep it further away from your modem
