Hi,
I was wondering if you could record Water Temperature data while swimming open water with the GPS.
I know the watch has a temp sensor. The Garmin swim 2 does it and it's quite a nice feature.
I am prepping for a long distance cold swim and it would be nice to know the temp of the water while training.
Thanks,
D

@Bohica93 Actually I would not recommend using it for an open water swim, salt water is significantly more corrosive. With the IP68 rating can be submerged in water for 30 minutes at a depth of 1.5 metres.

Hi,
Thanks for the info.
I have been swimming with it with my squad training in a 25m pool for about 7 months now, 4 sessions a week plus an open water swim in fresh water (dams) and so far haven't had any issues.
The squad sessions are 1 hour each +/- 3Km per session, it measures the distance perfectly as well as my heart rate.
The open water swims are around 1.5hrs in fresh water.
The watch never goes deeper than my arm length on a stroke and is not submerged all that time as I am swimming.
All seems to be working OK, but I'll keep an eye on it.
