What I wish there was built in on the samsung watches was a smart wake alarm.

I know there is apps but i feel there should be something similar to fitbit where we set an alarm and 30 minutes to an hour before the watch analyses the sleep pattern to find when you are in light sleep to gently wake you up.

Cause the idea of using an app when the watch has all the features built in all it has to do is optimise for it sounds so much better and simpler.

Same here, I'm very happy with the Galaxy Watch 7, and the sleep tracking is excellent.
At the same time it's disappointing not to use the data for a smart wake-up.

Samsung Watch has the ability to track your sleep cycles it would be great if the alarm were to go off during the lightest part of the sleep cycle to wake up more refreshed.

Great idea unless your having a longer sleep and end up being woken earlier.

The best I've found is Sleep As Android. It's pretty good. But IMO, Samsung Health sleep tracking is MUCH more accurate.

I did learn Samsung has some sort of partnership with Sleep Cycle to offer Samsung Health snoring detection: https://news.cision.com/sleep-cycle/r/sleep-cycle-integrates-snoring-detection-technology-in-samsung...

But Sleep Cycle doesn't use Wear OS watch for sleep cycles, only to start sleep tracking.

My guess is some sort of politics preventing Samsung Health from coming out with a smart alarm? Seems crazy. Literally the reason I have a smart watch in the first place.

Please Samsung Health... there is SUCH a huge opportunity to gain market share with this app, using the tech you already have implemented!

Hello everyone!

This is my first post on the Samsung forum because, like many others, I really need this feature! My last smart device before switching to a Samsung smartwatch was a Honor Band 5 (released in 2019!), and I hesitated a lot about switching just because of this missing feature, which is really important to me. Sometimes, I even have to sleep with both devices. The Honor Band even had a "smart nap" feature to make sure you didn’t fall into too deep a sleep during a nap.

Just this morning, I woke up during the wrong sleep cycle, I had an important meeting, but I couldn't focus..

Sleep seems to be a key feature in Samsung Health: sleep coaching, sleep score, cycle analysis, and now it’s even a big part of the energy score. It’s almost absurd that the app can detect snoring with recordings, but there’s no smart alarm. I believe that with this feature, many Galaxy Watch users would have better sleep and energy. I’d much rather have a smart alarm than know what sleep animal I am.. Samsung Health keeps reminding us how crucial sleep is for our overall health.

Maybe there are technical constraints preventing this feature, but please keep us updated to know what to expect.

@AntS, any updates on this feature?

EDIT: after some research..
"When the user wakes up, the sleep data is analyzed" (https://developer.samsung.com/health/blog/en/managing-sleep-data-with-samsung-health-and-health-conn...)
So the sleep data is not in real time, it is only available once the data is uploaded and analyzed when waking up, which probably prevents this functionality (yet ?), and that's why "Sleep as Android" has to access the raw data from the watch sensors, and use their own algorithm to detect sleep phases in real time (and consumes a lot of battery)

Ironically, there is an IEEE article from 2020 linked on samsung publications (https://developer.samsung.com/health/publications/4.html)

Any updates? I've been waiting for this feature since watch 2. It's definitely something that would make me even consider upgrading from my Watch 4, which I've barely used.
