Notification View Closes Too Quickly (~7–8 Seconds) Regardless of Screen Timeout Setting

Hello Samsung team,

I’ve noticed an issue with my Galaxy Watch 6 Classic (One UI Watch 6.0) where the notification view closes automatically after around 7~10 seconds, even when:

  • “Turn on screen for new notifications” is enabled or disabled

  • Raise-to-wake is used to manually view notifications when they arrive

  • Always-On Display is turned off or on

  • Global screen timeout is set to a much longer value via Settings or ADB

  • Ungaze enabled or disabled

When the timeout occurs:

  • If AOD is on, the watch switches to a blurred overlay with a small digital clock.

  • If AOD is off, the screen simply turns off.

From reviewing logs, it appears the System UI notification activity (SysUiActivity) uses its own fixed inactivity timer (~7–8 seconds) that’s independent of global screen timeout settings. This behavior makes it difficult to read or interact with longer notifications, especially without touching the screen immediately.

Request:
Please consider adding a user-facing option to configure this notification/activity timeout, or at least have it respect the global display timeout. This would greatly improve usability for users who need more time to read or interact with notifications.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.
