Changing distance settings from miles to km

I own a Samsung Watch8 connected to my S25 Ultra.  I want my watch to show km for distances when using Google Maps (as my phones does).

I Googled this, saw the video on changing measurements by going to the phone, opening Samsung Health, three dots, measurements. 

I've done that, no change.  I rebooted both devices, no change. 

Any suggestions?   I'm not new to this but am hitting a wall, so to speak.

Open maps on the watch, scroll to the bottom, settings, distance units, miles.

Maps has no connection to samsung health, so the health setting doesn't apply. Gotta set it in the maps app itself on the watch

Thanks!  I didn't scroll down on the watch, that was my first mistake.
