I have a Galaxy Watch 4 that was connected to my Flip 4 and worked fine. The Flip 4 has gone for repair and I am using my spare Galaxy S6 in the meantime. I have connected the watch with the Wear app but I cannot back it up because the option on the watch that used to be "Account and backup" is now just "Accounts" and I can't find a backup function anywhere. Might this be anything to do with the age of the phone? It's running Android 7 and Galaxy Watch4 Manager 2.2.11.24031551. How can I back up the watch so that I can restore when I get the Flip 4 back? Both S6 and watch are logged into my Samsung and Google accounts.

Same sort of problem. I get nagging messages saying that the watch wasn't backed up in 14 days, but the information on this says it should happen automatically overnight. I leave my phone and watch next to each other, on charge, every night.

I have this same issue. I need to backup my watch before I do a factory reset so I can activate the watch on my xfinity LTE network. Is there another way to do this than what is described in all the problem solving dialogue?
