Galaxy Watch7 Ultra – Third-party navigation apps unusable without “Return to App > Always” option

Hi everyone,

I’m using the Galaxy Watch7 Ultra with One UI Watch 8.0 and noticed a serious issue: all third-party navigation apps (such as GPS Navigation for Wear OS) cannot be used properly.

The watch keeps going back to the watch face after a few seconds, which interrupts navigation. Google Maps works fine (because it is integrated into the system), but other navigation apps close automatically.

Previously there was an option under Settings > Display > Return to App > Always, but in One UI Watch 8.0 it is missing. Without it, third-party apps cannot stay open on screen, which makes them unusable.

Could Samsung please restore the “Always” option in the next update? This would solve the problem for all navigation apps, not just Google Maps.

Best to contact those app developers to add in permissions for this.
You can also go into the support section on the Members App and leave feedback there for development teams to see
This is a customer to customer based forum and Samsung don't monitor here.
So only way is to provide feedback
