MapMyRun Active 2 Not connecting

I just changed phones, from a Pixel 3 to a Samsung S20. I had no problem connecting MapMyRun with the pixel. However, connecting the Active 2 has been problematic overall.

MapMyRun on the watch keeps telling me to login in the phone . I am logged in. I log out and login. Nothing. I've deleted and reinstalled the watch app.

All apps and O/S are current.

Inside the phone app, I see Samsung Health and other apps or devices. I don't see anyway to connect the watch .

That's really bizarre you can't install it. Sorry.

Have you reached out to mapmyrun support?

I've gotten used to the sync between Samsung Health on the watch and mapmyrun app on the phone.  I won't full commit to Samsung Health because I want some autonomy on my data records in case I leave Samsung.

I've got a few squabbles with Samsung Health. Indoor bike trainer doesn't allow me to input miles and kayaking doesn't even track miles.. Duh. Otherwise it's pretty good.

Wish I had a better answer for you.

My friend and I were just saying all of these watches and trackers are still like an advanced beta. His Garmin rocks, has amazing battery life but has no phone integration. And I need ECG.

Thanks so much for the replies. I agree they all seem to fall short of being a finished product.

I lodged a ticket with mapmyrun and will report back if anything comes of it.  Otherwise Samsung Health it is for now

I have also just started having the same issue.

Originally it was absolutely hosing my battery, so i uninstalled + reinstalled - seemed to fix it

LAter that day (2 days ago) it stopped connecting. Every attempt at clearing cache / uninstalling / reinstalline etc ends with it popping up on the watch: "please install app on your phone"... which i have...

Exactly the same issue here. I hope someone has a solution?

Received a response from MapMyRun advising they are aware of the issue and have passed it on to the development team to review based on backlog priorities.  I’m guessing support for Active 2 won’t be a high priority given Galaxy Watch 4 isn’t using the same OS.

They don't have app for Watch4 so it should be resolved soon. Sent my own ticket right now and I'm MVP so I hope they will fix it asap 😕

Got the resolve, you should install mapmyfitness app on your phone instead of mapmyrun.
