Galaxy watch 6 notification sounds not working

Just updated my watch 6 to the new 6.0 watch UI version and noticed that only the default notification sound plays even when a different sound is set for different apps (ie whatsapp notifications). I have also tried testing it by using the sound picker in the whatsapp notification settings in the wearable app but still only the default sound plays, no matter what sound I sample.

Any help to fix this would be appreciated.

Managed to fix mine. Reset watch and set up as new. And is working back the way it was now.

I have this exact same problem and there doesn't seem to be a way to get it adjusted or changed. The second the default tone is set, that's it for all the notifications and whatever you try to play, it only plays the default. Fix this!

I messaged Samsung support team, apparently it's a fault with whatsapp. But when I tried getting through to whatsapp support it just kept bouncing back with an automated message telling me they don't deal with notification problems on chat support 🤦🏽 ♀️ 🙄

It isn't just an issue with whatsapp because it does this to all my apps- messages, email, etc. It is an issue on their side. But thank you for your response, I will reach out to tech support and make their life busy lol.

Oh okay. I only use WhatsApp as a companion app on my watch so that's all I noticed. All my other apps are on my phone so all the notifications come through on the default sound anyway.

Sounds like a plan, lemme know how it goes

I've had the exact same issue when my watch did the update. Not happy at all!!

Now I have to keep checking my watch when I get a notification instead of being able to prioritise by sound 🙃

That's the exact reason I had different sounds. Knew what I could ignore and what needed dealing with! Hopefully they sort it ASAP

It did not wok for me at all, just wasted 4 hours of my life. So back to square one. Nor really though because now after the reset my GPS seems to have issues too and does not track my run and walk routes correctly. So it actually went from bad to worse...
