Galaxy Watch 4 keeps asking to reset and re-pair

After a couple of months of having to reset my watch every week. I managed to pinpoint where the problem might be. I tried everything, and no solution worked.

My watch is up to date, I tried disabling google assistant but it didn't work.  It seems that whenever I get disconnected from the internet, or if I'm too far away from my phone's bluetooth range, my watch would work fine for a couple of hours and then, just randomly decides to unpair from my phone and asks to be reseted and re-paired. Is SO annoying, I paid a decent amount of money for this piece of paperweight that I have to babysit or otherwise I would have to spend another hour puting up with it's bugs.

Now, there's a couple of other issues after I reset my watch.

While reseting my watch would just fail to link my google account or copy my data from my samsung account, this is random, I have a good internet connection, but my watch would just randomly not link or copy my accounts to my watch. My solution is to skip that step and do it manually after the reset is finished, but it's not as straight forward as it sounds, because it's random too, I just have to keep trying and trying for hours until the wearable app decides to get it together and actually link and/or copy my accounts. Sometimes it links my samsung account but not my google account, sometimes neither.

It also disconnects after a system update.

Again I tried every solution I could find, and no luck, but here I am, asking for your help, because I don't know what else to do.

Same! Galaxy Watch 7 LTE 40mm here. When I constantly see the "disconnected from phone" status icon on my watch and I open the Wearable app, it would force me to reset the watch. This is extremely irritating because resetting the watch drains 40-50% of the watch's battery. And then after reset, another 20-30% while the watch is in the "learning phase". I don't have a charger at work/outside, so each reset essentially disables my watch for the day.

I had already known Samsung products were sub-par YEARS ago when my Samsung phones always eventually slows down and become unusable after a couple of years. Unfortunately I got this watch as a gift! 😞

Hi, I had the same issue requiring me to reset my watch daily. I have since seemingly solved it by reinstalling both the wearable app and the plugin, alongside clearing the permissions of both and then resetting the watch and starting the process all over again.

I found a solution guys! Just got through it. While my watch was asking for a reset, I tried transfer to a new phone option even though I had same phone. I made sure I logged out my google account manually from the watch. After a few hit and trial, there comes a state when it starts to load on your phone screen something like "setting up your watch this might take a few minuets" with a ball filled with pixels bouncing up and down with white background. There comes a point when it gets stuck, at around 80%. Turn of your phone Bluetooth. Wait for the Bluetooth connection to close. Your app will still be stuck but there will be a notification from Samsung wearable only saying "Watch disconnected from phone". Now turn Bluetooth back on and wait for it to connect automatically to watch Bluetooth and close the app. On your watch, manually go to settings and transfer to new phone and it will launch the app on phone, this time it wants you to login to your google account, you logon and rest will work fine. It's google's shitty play services updates that break the pair, not Samsung's fault.

That only lets you pair your device again. Pairing the devices is already a big issue as its seems to randomly fail. But after a couple of days your watch will forget your phone and you'll get a notification saying "a new phone is trying to pair, please reset your watch to pair with a new phone." And you'll be locked out of your watch. No matter what you do, your watch will refuse to get re-paired unless you factory reset it.

I reset my watch but lost all my data because I didn't back it up.  When I updated phone the msg to reset constantly appeared on my watch.  Ii was pissed because it took time to personalize when I first bought it.  Samsung you are doing too much.  You changed payment methods, on my insurance and products.  What's the next stupid thing you're going to do after getting my money?  You even lowered my  available credit even though I never had a late one.  After getting close to paying my balance off.  What you have done should be against the law because I've spent good money with you to be treated so badly by you.  Who else feels the same.  Regardless, be blessed. 🙏

I started having this problem with my Ultra 2 weeks ago after the latest watch software update.   I had to reset the watch twice since. While it only takes 10 minutes to reset/restore but it is definitely annoying.  I will try to reinstall the app/plug-in.  Thanks.

Hi there, I have one suggestion, and it is a main and most overlooked one. In addition to reinstalling the apps, you should go to settings>app management>google play services>storage usage>clear data (only tap once and don't clear any unnecessary data) a page will open>manage wearable storage> now tap "Clear Now".

Now install the wearable and wear watch manager apps, pair watch and enjoy your trouble free watch!

You may restore your watch backup if any too.

Hope it helps.

Fact that this wearable storage often messes up if you use some phone data transfer service because the cache data gets copied which is supposed to be built by the app itself and it keeps the services in a phantam data loop. Issue may sometimes even arise if you use "transfer my watch" feature and your previous phone is too different than your current one. Clearing what I said will resolve the issue most probably.

Cheers from India.

Did not work. A solution that temporarily worked for me was connecting it to a samsung phone, then back to my current one, but the issue returned about a month later
