In a dilemma about getting the Bluetooth, or the 4G, apart from being standalone, is there any point really, because I don't go running and I've never not got my phone on me... TIA

Same as you I rarely go out without my phone.  I've had a Bluetooth Active2 for 2 years and never missed having 4G.  If you do plan to go out for a run\walk\cycle without your phone the Watch 4 has 16GB memory (less the OS of course) so will be room enough to load songs etc.  Also has onboard GPS for tracking so can update SH on return.

I would say getting the 4g wouldn't benefit you. I bought my active 2 4g just for the stainless steel finish. In that 2 years I never set up an esim with EE. I decided to go for Bluetooth watch 4 this time. Shame stainless Steel is used for the classic only. Its a nice watch but think it will be too bulky for me.

I'm going for the classic this time for the rotating bezel and stainless steel finish.  Also Samsung are giving me £150 trade in on my 2 year old Active2!

As you say it is bulkier and I don't have the biggest wrists!

They've run out of Bluetooth Watch4 at mo, yea don't think I'm gonna go down the 4G route, stay Bluetooth, best option, I'll have a look at the classic but like @blenky, I've only got little wrists too, did have the Frontier, was a tad big on my wrist. Decisions Decisions 🙄

If you go for the 4g, either way you will still be able to use it Bluetooth only. If you ever want to go the 4g route, you can. Plus if you can trade in the active 2 watch for the watch 4 4g, your getting a £150 off the price.

@Fiona26, I bit the bullet, black 4G Watch4 on the way, like u said, my option to use 4G if I want another bill, Bluetooth will be good enuff, and I used my option to trade in, so got the watch for £159, so a good deal in the end 😀 👍🏼

Just be aware that the 4G LTE version drains battery life quicker than the Bluetooth version.

My advice comes from being a UK Samsung iPhone user.

Current Devices:
  • iPhone 14 Pro 256GB Deep Purple
  • Samsung Galaxy Buds+ > Model: SM-R175.

How easy is it to get a 4g contract? I am currently with giffgaff (so effectively PAYG). As far as I can make out I would need to switch to Vodafone or EE. Then I would need a monthly contract (not clear what minimum term would be) and also a watch contract (again not clear what minimum term would be).
