WS-28V53N - No HMDI connection. Can I use a SCART to HDMI adapter instead, and if so, is there a specific one needed?

TV mode WS-28V53N

I brought my lovely tv 2005 and Virgin are saying their tivio box is being replaced but I don’t have a HMDI connection? Is there anything I can get as the tv works wonderfully and I don’t see why I should buy a new one. Sorry if this has been asked before. I believe i could buy a scart to HDMI adapater - if so is there a specific one i need?

Hi @lindah_07  Welcome to the Samsung Community :smiling-face:  I have  checked that model  and indeed it is a 2005 CRT.  There are a few options available such as a convertor  which would convert the HDMI signal to a compatible format and there are a number of HDMI to scart convertors, the problem though is finding one which is HDCP compliant and in any case  even if  effective would not produce the best quality.

Whilst your Tv may be working ok at the moment  and the CRT ones did last longer but the average was around 15 years , you are likely to come into difficulties  in the future.

In any case with newer equipment you would best with  a modern TV.

I do not work for Samsung or make Samsung Products but provide independent advice and valuable contributions.
