About 1 month ago I started to experience white spots on the left and right edges of my TV. These have progressively got worse over time to the point where they make the TV unwatchable. This problem seems to be quite common with these models:

Does anyone have a fix outside of getting a screen repaired (which doesn't seem to be possible now)? I'm out of warranty and spent £1800 on this TV only 2 years 5 months ago...
Any help or advice would be appreciated.

I have a JS8500 that retailed for close to $4,000 when new. I'm having these same light bleed issues also with a TV that's just 4 years old. I have another Samsung TV, an Ln52b630 that is 14 years old and still works flawlessly period. It is unacceptable that a TV screen should go bad within 4 years on a $4,000 TV.
Aside from the light bleed issue, I Feel This TV has an exceptionally good picture. You can't buy a 3D-enabled television anymore, and sets that don't even work properly are going on eBay for $2,000. That is why I'm interested in finding some kind of fix for this problem. I believe I would pay up to $500 to find a TV repairman to take care of this problem. If it was possible to find a new TV with 3D then I would just mark this problem off and buy a new set. If you want 3D now you have to buy a projector.

Fixing is not the real point, which actually is finding the spare part. Spare part for the component that fail is not available in the market.
The part you would need to replace is the white plastic panel you can see being removed at minute 4:30 at this [link removed - Mod]
I have fixed other TV models which can be find on sale on the market with other components broken and reusing this. But when we come to this TV model, all the ones you find of the same model already have the component damaged. There are not many models compatible as these uses LED on the sides and the plastic panels have to be made to receive the LED from the side. Most models have the LED on top and bottom.
My JS9000 is still in the garage as well, as I haven't found the component.

Hi guys,
Very much appreciate the DIY spirit, but advice on the opening up and unofficial repairing of Samsung products isn't allowed on the official Samsung Community: https://eu.community.samsung.com/t5/news-rules-faqs/community-policy-on-dangerous-diy-unorthodox-rep...
I've got no doubt that some of you know what you're doing (and to do it safely) when you're tinkering around with stuff, but not everyone out there will.
Cheers.

Apologise when my previous message went in the wrong direction.
I agree 100% that it is very easy to make mistakes while doing the operation and damage other components which are vital for the TV to work.
