Hi,
I have owned a 55” QN95A Neo QLED 4K HDR Smart TV (2021) since 2021 and have been trying to use a USB device to record and pause live TV.
For a while, a standard USB pen drive worked well, but all of a sudden, my TV was saying "no USB detected". So I found an SSD drive that I was not using and bought a suitable SSD enclosure that had a mains power supply.
My TV will detect the SSD and record and pause TV, etc, but if I turn off my TV it will not record anything whilst the TV is not turned on, and when I turn my TV back on, the TV says, "no USB detected". If I restart the USB enclosure, it works fine, but when I turn off my TV, I have the same situation.
Does anyone have any recommendations? Thanks in advance!

Hey, sounds like your TV is cutting power to the USB port when it shuts down. One workaround might be to use a powered USB hub that stays on independently of the TV—this could keep your SSD active even when the TV's off. Alternatively, check if there's a "USB Always On" setting in your TV's menu. If not, a hub is your best bet to maintain a constant power supply for your recording setup. Hope that helps!

Hi, thanks for your response. As I said, "So I found an SSD drive that I was not using and bought a suitable SSD enclosure that had a mains power supply". Is that what you meant? If yes, I have already tried that 😞

Hi
Only thing I can think of is to reset TV to factory settings and reformat your HDD and connect to USB port. I believe there is a powered USB port.
