I have a Model UN55MU6300F Smart TV. I see that there are 2 USB ports on the back. I have a USB stick with some graphics and video clips plugged into the lower one and recently plugged in another USB stick into the upper one with more videos. Both ports play the videos, but they behave a little differently.
This is how they appear on my TV screen when both are used:
The lower port is Flash Card Reader and the upper one Mass Storage.
This is the ports on the back:
The lower one with USB stick plugged in is "USB <symbol> (HDD 5V 1A)" and the upper one "USB <symbol> (5V 0.5A)".
What is the intended purpose of these 2 ports and how are they different?

The lower USB port is designed for use with powered Hard Disk Drives that need a little more juice to function. USB flash drives often don't need much. However, both ports can accept USB flash drives without issue.

Thanks, that makes sense. By swapping my two USB sticks around, I also found that the "Flash Card Reader" and "Mass Storage" labels displayed on the TV screen are what's plugged in, nothing to do with the ports. One USB stick is various media in folders and the other is a number of videos, not in a folder.
