Having two Samsung TV's with the new Smart Hub interface, for every firmware update I receive, I get more disappointed. Instead of a minimalist, user friendly, modern and fast interface, with customization possibilities as optional "view/hide" features on Settings menu, Samsung firmware dev team keeps adding useless features like Daily+ and Ambient, making the interface busier and slow. Please Samsung, here are some things I would like to see on my TV's:
- Clock on the Home Screen! Google TV interface have it for more than 10 years.
- When powering on the TV, don't set the focus on "Recent" and then automatically start the last app after 15 seconds, as I might not want to use the same app as the last person did.
- The new central menu "Discover | Live | Apps" is ugly and looks like out of place. Besides we don't install apps all day long, so keep the Apps tab hidden on the left menu as it was before so kids aren't messing around with it or even better, add app management to the Parental Control feature so kids and visitors don't install/remove apps without permission.
- The Samsung TV Plus some times loads the channels Thumbnails in front of the "Recent" row and some time doesn't. Some consistency here please (Bug?).
- Allow to hide/show the Apps contents thumbnails on the rows bellow.
- Allow to customize the background wallpaper of the Smart Hub interface and to remove the text on top "Explore your favourite content......". Just boring!
- Fix the issue where you can't run the "Device Care" function if you're not on Live TV. When using apps, the option doesn't show active on the Settings menu.
- Improve the Apps tab. Can be confusing to find what apps are installed, how to delete and search for them.
- Allow to set the Auto Power Off to less than 4 hours if tv is on Home Screen or no app is being used.
