Smart Calibration SDR and HDR

I’m about to upgrade my Samsung TV to one that has the smart calibration feature. I know you use this (if you want) on each picture profile. But does that then cover both SDR and HDR content?

I’ve tried asking A.I. and it said you would need to have SDR content on and run it, then put HDR content on and do it for that too. But not sure this sounds right?

Hi and welcome to the community, that's a great question. I have a Samsung monitor and use a professional calibration tool to ensure its spot on. What I did was set up 2 different profiles so one for SDR and a separate one for HDR content and select whichever i need depending on the footage I am viewing.

I think the problem is that HDR settings change the contrast, brilliance etc which effects the colours so more punchy and saturated. I hope this helps 🙏
