I bought a 43" BU8510 Crystal UHD 4K HDR Smart TV (2022) in April 2023 for £449. (It has a white surround) That's less than 2 years ago and now it won't work. The screen won't come on and we have tried all the recommended fixes. It's a 3 figure sum for Samsung to collect it then whatever it will cost to repair. I have read on another forum that it is probably the screen and not worth repairing. This is a massively disappointing purchase. I will never buy another Samsung TV or product again and will actively be telling people to avoid them.  Anyone else experienced this and any ideas of how to fix without paying the same price as the TV again ?!!!

The second you noticed the white surround, you should have returned it.

The only cheaper way to fix the TV would be through a third party, which I do not recommend.

Hope your new TV works out better for you. Samsung quality issues are rare—in the grand scheme of things, though they do happen. As someone who deals with technology and returns/troubleshooting, Samsung is definitely one of the rarer brands I see returned.

Where do you buy the TV from? In the UK most retailers will give you a 5 years guarantee on it. If that's the case you should contact them and get it fixed or replaced for free.

You only get the 4 years extension once you registered the tv with Samsung.

When I say white surround I mean the frame so instead of the usual black frame, it was white that's all.

Basically its a dud tv and I wont risk another £450 for something that only lasts 18 months. It's the repair aspect that bugs me, clearly the TV is faulty due to manufacturing not wear and tear or damage.   I wouldn't mind paying for a reasonable replacement part but they wont even look at their bad product for free !!!

Yes I didn't realise that and it isn't made clear.  I bought it direct from them and so we should have received an email advising us to register it but they don't exactly advertise that fact as clearly it benefits them the more people that don't register the less faulty TV's they have to fix or replace, they are happy for us to just waste our money.

Doesn’t matter about guarantee, goggle consumer rights for electrical goods, 5 years at least. This has to be claimed against where you purchased it from
