My tv is connected to my network using cat5. I have a computer also connected to same network with cat5. I have 3 hard drives connected to the computer with tons of movies in mp4 format. I can see and play two of the hard drives. The third hard drive shows up on the tv, but it doesn't show the contents. This hard drive showed everything until I formatted and re-installed the videos. The contents show up when viewed with the computer.

What's the file format of the videos that won't play? Have you tried a CAT6 cable?

.mp4

The other two drives work just fine. I really don't think cat6 is what I need.

I still can't see what is on that hard drive. I have searched all over the internet and have tried everything I come across. I have even tried with a new hard drive with the same results. It just doesn't make sense why I can read and play two of them but not the third.
