I recently got a Samsung TU8500 50 inch TV and am overall extremely pleased with it. The only thing I have noticed is that when playing the sound through the TV speakers, when I reduce the volume to 1 or 2, I can hear a noise that sounds like wind on a microphone. It is not very loud, but still noticeable. When the volume is at 10 you can still hear it if you are close to the tv but over that volume when watching TV you cant hear it and it is hidden by the programme sound (unless the programme is particularly silent. If I mute the tv the noise goes away. I was wondering if this is normal or if there is an issue with the TV or how I can fix it?
Thanks

HI. I have done that but when turned off the sound is poor.

I agree - tried this on TU8500 50” and defo fixes the issue but the sound is poor...any other fixes? This is my second TV replaced by John Lewis (such good customer service!) .
I have ordered a BOSE sound bar which comes tomorrow so not the end of the world but surely this shouldn’t be a problem...?!

Starting to think the sound bar option is the only way to go. Been talking with a Samsung technician this evening on live chat who informs me that they are fully aware of the issue. apparently there is a fix in the latest software update on the support website. So I download the latest software, update the tv through USB and guess what? the annoying sound is still there. Unbelievable.

Surprised they acknowledge the issue. The one I talked to wouldn’t acknowledge it at all and denied it.

Yes, we are absolutely aware of it. That is why we made the software update that will eliminate that issue.

I'm not pretty sure that the last update eliminates the issue... I have installed the latest firmware (ver1460.9) and the noise remains (Qled Q60T).

You are correct the latest firmware makes no difference. I am waiting on an engineer. The technician I spoke to on live chat claim they now know what's wrong but I am not so sure. There are a lot of TV's in the TU8500 and Qled Q60T range that have the exact problem. It is unbelievable that Samsung have not nailed this yet.
