In the last week our Samsung TV has lost the Source options, such as HDMI.

When we navigate to Source it shows:
TV - Remote Access - Connection Guide - Universal Remote

Usually we leave it on HDMI - we don't watch TV (or have/require a TV License) so don't want it defaulting to Samsung TV Plus when exiting whatever streaming app we have been using, but that is exactly what it is now doing since HDMI is not an option.

I read somewhere about holding the Standby button on the remote to hard restart the TV but that hasn't worked.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Losing the HDMI source option on your Samsung TV can be frustrating, especially if you primarily use external devices like streaming boxes or game consoles. Here are some steps and suggestions to try and resolve this issue:

1. **Check Connections**: Ensure that all HDMI cables are securely connected to both your external devices (like streaming boxes, game consoles) and the HDMI ports on your TV. Sometimes loose connections can cause source options to disappear.

2. **Power Cycle the TV and Connected Devices**: Try unplugging the power cords of both your TV and all connected devices (such as streaming boxes or consoles). Leave them unplugged for a few minutes, then plug them back in and power them on. This can sometimes reset HDMI connections.

3. **Reset TV to Factory Settings**: If the issue persists, you may need to perform a factory reset on your TV. This will reset all settings to their default and can often resolve software-related issues. To do this, go to Settings > Support > Self Diagnosis > Reset. Note that this will erase all your settings and installed apps, so you'll need to set up your TV again afterward.

4. **Update TV Firmware**: Ensure that your TV's firmware is up to date. Sometimes updates can fix bugs related to HDMI inputs and source options. You can check for updates in Settings > Support > Software Update.

5. **Check for External Devices Issues**: Connect different HDMI devices one at a time to see if the issue persists with all devices or just one particular device. This can help isolate whether the problem is with the TV or a specific device.

6. **Contact Samsung Support**: If none of these steps resolve the issue, it may indicate a hardware problem with your TV's HDMI ports or a deeper software issue. Contact Samsung support for further assistance. They may have additional troubleshooting steps or recommend service if needed.

By following these steps, you should be able to diagnose and potentially resolve the issue with your Samsung TV not displaying HDMI source options properly.
