Smart Hub working but cannot access BBC iPlayer

I have a model UE46D8000 - 9 years old. 
my Smart Hub is working fine but I can’t access iPlayer. 
tried rebooting etc - but no joy, so checked the online help via chat.

They reported that because of BBC software upgrades some models have lost functionality.

They suggest I contact a retailer and ask them what fire stick or chrome cast supports BBC.

Does anybody have a suggestion?

i am not a Techie - so not too technical please!

Hi @cheltman  Unfortunately iplayer will  no longer be supported on your set. A list of certified devices is here and one going that  far back https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/help/questions/supported-devices/samsung

Thank you James for your response. I have gone ahead and purchased an Amazon Firetvstick 4K and successfully installed it on the TV - I can now access BBC iPlayer. You need to first register online with BBC and during set-up you are sent a code to authorise your TV/firestick.
