I have an old Samsung TV (model UE26EH4500WXXU) on which I have been able to access BBC iPlayer.  A warning message has recently been appearing, advising me that iPlayer will not be accessible after the end of October.

Can anyone advise me which streaming box I can use to enable me to continue using iPlayer with this TV ?

It would be good if I could also use other catchup apps (eg ITVX, All4) which have not been available on this TV.

Hi there 👋, there's quite few out there also it depends if you want premium channels as well like discovery plus etc? If so there stream boxes like ee tv box, sky stream box whitch you pay monthly and get premium channels on top of regular ones like discovery etc also you get netflix premium included itvx etc if you want just regular stream box without monthly subscription there's roku stream, there's fire stick, chromecast, and lots of others it depends on your preference personally I used EE tv box in the past for as I remember 20 or 30£ per month with netflix included and extra channels

Yes it should work perfectly fine as long as your tv is working fine like @JAMES4578 mentioned and HDMI at the back of your tv is working fine then, yes.

Hi, thanks for your response.  I'm not really interested in premium subscription services. The standard terrestrial channels are sufficient.

Will all the ones you mentioned - Roku, Firestick, Chromecast etc - be compatible with any TV set or is it necessary to check for compatibility ?

@johnbey17  This model was released in 2012 so unfortunately  some apps will lose support. If the Tv is still functioning ok  otherwise  you can use an external Device.  @lminvti  has given you good advice.   can read a bit about some streaming Devices  here https://www.whathifi.com/best-buys/digital-tv-boxes/best-tv-streaming-boxes

I do not work for Samsung or make Samsung Products but provide independent advice and valuable contributions.

In the end I bought a Roku Express streaming box for £30.   Very neat and compact and easy to install, and gives me access to all the channels I wanted.
