Our 75 inchQLED 8K Neo has a subtle screen defect which appears as a dark smudge in the near centre about 3 or 4 square inches in size. It’s especially noticeable when the tv image is light such as the view of a sky or white wall. Looking online it appears it could be a back light or led problem. Either way it’s very disappointing given it’s under 2 years old. Does anyone know what this could be if it is fixable at reasonable cost or if serious will Samsung replace under Consumer Rights Legislation?

Thanks I’m hoping it won’t come to that and Samsung will be reasonable but we will see !

Hi Julian, I've got this with my Q75 800. Samsung online has advised it is a scratch. Clearly not a scratch, and has further deteriorated over the last 12 months.
What was the outcome for you with Samsung? I'm in Aust.

Samsung have washed their hands of this issue as it’s out of warranty. Their recommended repairer has said that it’s unlikely it can be repaired. Only option is to go to the Small Claims Court and sue them. Chances are that we won’t get full compensation anyway. On another issue the same TV went black last month and we had to replace the One Connect Box. Luckily I found one on eBay otherwise this £3.5k TV would have been scrap after just 27 months. I’ll never buy a Samsung product again
