Samsung TV does not receive ITV and many other Freesat channels

If you have a brand new Samsung TV be aware that it will not receive any ITV channels on its freesat tuner.

This is because ITV (and others)  have changed their freesat frequency and symbol rate from 23000 to 27500. Until Samsung understand this problem and fix it with a firmware update, you will not be able to watch 25% of freesat TV channels.

I am about to return my TV for a refund as it is not fit for purpose. Unfortunately you cannot tell which sets are affected until you plug them in and try them!

Thank you for your information as I'm sure it will help people in a similar situation to yours.

Not a TV person myself but I was of the belief that if you were with say with the likes of Sky etc you would be still be able to get the Freesat TV via their boxes and so it wouldn't really matter unless if you use only the TV to receive them.

Yes, I could buy a separate Freesat box as the TV tuner doesn't work, but I bought a new TV with a tuner built in!

Good idea. But I just want to watch Freesat TV. Many channels are not available online. eg Talkingpictures TV.

Also    IMPORTANT!

ITV is transmitted on 11344 H from astra BUT

other channels are on 11344 V from astra

Check your lnb skew! else they will interfere with each other
