hey! we recently bought a new samsung remote for our samsung tv because the buttons had become worn out. The new remote we bought a couple months ago keeps giving us problems. First, it takes a while pairing with our tv. It says to hold the back arrow and play/pause for three seconds until paired, but it can take us up to 20 attempts. The tv says things such as no device found, or unable to connect every time we try. The second problem is that it keeps disconnecting with the tv. After the remote has been paired, you have to try and pair it again not even 5 minutes later. This has become such a problem that all the members in my family has all downloaded a tv remote app, which doesn't work as great as a regular remote, but still ten times better than the one we have. Also, I know there are fully charged batteries in it, I don't know what to do to fix this problem.

Mine started doing this a month ago. First the TV would turn off by itself, or change apps. Then The volume and other selectors quit working. Changed batteries, and followed the on screen prompts. Worked for a week, then 2 days, then 20 minutes, then 5 minutes. TV will start to pair, then it will say no device found. The TV is a Model number QN82Q6FNAF TYPE NO: QN82Q6FNA MODEL CODE: QN82Q6FNAFXZA  I have 3 Samsung smart TV's. They are different sizes but remotes look the same. Tried switching out and pairing the other remotes, no joy. 😞   Was thinking about purchasing another bigger TV,  but this one is the newest (3 years) Not so sure about it now. If these TV's are failing at 3 years old.

Hi, I have a Samsung QE55Q90R where the smart remote won't remain paired to TV. It needs to pair each time the TV is switched on. Would appreciate if anyone can advise solution? Many thanks

Just purchase a Roku hi def box and leave the old samsung remote in a drawer.

I think maybe this will help remove the remote's battaries and close the lid then long press the power button for 8 seconds then open the lid insert the battery close the lid then it may work if it works let me know (I am also a customer)

Hi

i have this same issue

it’s a q9fn tv with smart remote which repeatedly keeps dropping its Bluetooth connection to the tv. It will power on or off via ir but Bluetooth connection keeps disconnecting

how can I stop the remote from loosing connection ?

where is  the Bluetooth connection is it on the tv or the one connect box ?

I can reset the tv and it will be ok for a day, battery charge makes no difference at all.

often the remote refuses to resound to button presses as the red light in the remote does not light up when buttons are pressed. It’s like it’s busy, this goes on for hours. The only way is to remove the batteries from the remote when this happens

but how ever the remote is made to pair  after trying for ages, always the remote will drop bt connection. Always. Maybe today, maybe tomorrow, maybe in 5 mins. Always it’s been working (usually after a difficult bearing process) then it will always drop the connection at some point. Usually within a day if not several times a day

Can somebody from Samsung respond to this please? (Or anyone with experience if this? ) instead of just asking more questions and hope the complaint goes away

this tv is great but I forgot to add we have had a remote replaced under warranty as the print on the buttons rubs off. Both remotes display the exact same behaviour, they are the same performance

I don’t believe this a hardware fault but a software issue or interference in the Bt signal pairing

please advise how to stop this happening

This worked for me! Thanks! Seemed to reset the remote so that I was able to connect it via Bluetooth using the hold the back and play button method

We have a similar problem.

A few months ago, we bought a 2023 Samsung The Frame TV.

It's been working well for us, until about 2 weeks ago, the remote keeps failing us. We figured out we can pair the remote, which always takes 2 attempts. First attempt fails because there's already a remote connected. Next attempt it usually pairs. Sometimes it will work for one day, sometimes for 10 seconds.

We bought a fairly big frame for the TV, so it obscures the ir sensor. We were told that's no problem, because the remote uses radio signals.

We pair the remote by walking up to the TV and shining directly at the sensor. The remote also works from there, but of course it should work from the other side of the room.

Any suggestions?
