Hi all,

I have bought the Samsung S95D and the sound bar Q990D last month.

when started up the q-symphony was working with the sound bar. Now the q-symphony setup doesn’t detect the speaker. Sometimes it’s working sometimes the soundbar itself not working the setup changing itself. The customer care tells its software glitch. I almost tried reset for 3 times no luck with that

How did you connect the soundbar with the TV? The safest alternative is to use the HDMI connection, just be sure you connect to the correct HDMI port on the one box (there's one with eARC label). If you are connecting via WiFi, then note that the Q-Symphony function only works if you youse the 2.4GHz band or if you use channels 36-42 of the 5GHz band.

I did connected via the HDMI on the e-arc port only that the one provided by Samsung. And my wifi is also 2.4 GHz. The issue is not with the connection its with software.

Im having similar issues. Same tv and soundbar.

The hdmi cec test gives me this error:

we've identified an issue that can arise when the device remains connected to the cec line.

The problem is that the tv does not detect the soundbar randomly.

I have the latest firmware on everything.

Has anyone solved this? I continue to have the problem that if I activate Earc on AUTO, the audio does not work and it disconnects from the sound bar to return to the TV speakers. help!

I just bought the Q990D and experienced similar issues. Over the weekend I tried various setups (with several hard resets of the soundbar) and ended up removing all the HDMI connections from/to the unit, even the ARC one, and connected it to my S95B tv set only through WiFi 5G network, channel 48 (this is a set up to be done on the WiFi router, a fritzbox 7490 in my case), avoiding all DFS channels, as this is written in the user manual.  So far it works steadily, in the coming days I will experiment by connecting the HDMI ports to verify whether the reports on other forums  about HDMI interference coming  from  other devices connected to the unit and/or TV set, have any basis.

I think in my case the system is now stable. As the WiFi only connection resulted, not always,  in no sound after switching off both tv  and soundbar, I reconnected the e-ARC HDMI cable, the one provided with the unit. After this all my  problems were solved. I did not use any other HDMI port in the soundbar as I have 3 remaining ports on my TV set. Usage of: a series x xbox, an IP tv box and a mini PC, all directly connected to the S95B tv set, did not disturb the Q-Symphony function and all sounded great. So my conclusion is that a stable WiFi connection, as described in my previous post, together with the e-ARC HDMI connection give the perfect result. I attach a photo of my tv set that shows the sound output mode.
