QN95C Xbox Series X not passing uncompressed 5.1/7.1 over eARC

According to the website RTings, the TV should have no issue passing up to 7.1 LPCM audio, why does this TV not seem to support this when connected to an Xbox Series console?

The uncompressed 5.1 and 7.1 settings aren’t even visible, when there should be no issue at all.

Other people have also mentioned this issue online. Can you please issue a firmware fix? As there’s no hardware reason why this shouldn’t be working.

Hi @Vashetti , I’m sorry to hear about the issue you’re experiencing with your Xbox.

If the problem persists, I recommend contacting stright to Samsung customer support. More people will write to them, more chance that they will react and will fix this with an upcoming update.

I have same TV and Xbox works for me, make sure using a good HDMI and in game mode.

Your Xbox is connected directly to this specific TV via HDMI, and allows you to select uncompressed 5.1 and 7.1 options?

Can you please show a picture of your Xbox settings as I’ve done above?

No you are right! I don't have that, I'll do some testing today on my 65QN95C and Q800C. I'll be going 2024 QN95 soon hopefully been fixed

Came across this post while researching the same issue. Not sure if the Xbox or PS5 got an update but I can confirm I’m getting 5.1 LPCM working on both. On the Xbox it shows up in the audio settings now even with game mode and VRR on. On the PS5 it wasn't as clear cut since you always have the option to select 5.1 and 7.1. Selecting 5.1 works but when selecting 7.1 the TV will still change it to 2.0 PCM.  

Very frustrating Samsung won’t patch this. I imagine it’s doable considering LG fixed this same issue on some of their TVs a while back.

Hi,

does anyone have an update on this. Switched from my QN90A to S90D. The QN90A could easily pass 7.1 LPCM via ps5 to my q930b. But the s90d shows stereo when using 7.1. 5.1 works now.

is there any chance, that this will be fixed in an update? This is realy frustrating, as it is advertised to support lücm via eARC.
