I have recently purchased this Television and have noticed vertical bands appearing in content. Samsung online help have told me that unless this manifests in the Picture Test, nothing can be done about it. Surely the following is not acceptable on a £3000 TV ? Should this be acceptable Samsung?

My suggestion to you would be to insist on having your whole TV replaced with a new one. I had the 2017 65Q7 model with exactly similar vertical banding and Samsung was not replacing it. I had to hire a lawyer to have my TV replaced (unfortunately it was the only way for me)
If my TV was like that, I would definitely be depressed..
Useful tips to say to Samsung people: The picture test has everything cranked up to the max (contrast, brightness, etc..). Vertical banding is verified when brightness is fairly low and when viewing grey pictures (15-20% grey). YouTube app is kinda perfect because the whole interface has that shade of grey.
