I've been having an issue when trying to play games in 8k on PS5 Pro.

The picture cuts out/flashes black every few minutes. Only happens for 8k output, anything in 4k or lower is fine. Happens for both F124 and No Mans Sky so far.

Anyone else having this issue?

Would it be because the update is not available yet?

Same issue. Some games work better than others, some unplayable like no man sky full black screen, tv says no inout. Gran tourismo 7 cuts in and out making it unplayable. Samsung qn800a with ps5 pro..8k output busted.

First thing to check is whether your TV is on the latest software available. It should be on 2505.4 or higher. Should it state it is up to date through Settings > Support > Software update, but is below 2505.4, we recommend updating the TV manually. The update file and installation guide can be found here.

This kind of behaviour can occur due to incompatible HDMI cables. Simply not being rated high enough for the signal output. We would recommend trying another high quality 8K HDMI cable to see if the same behaviour occurs.

With these games being newly supported up to 8K, there may be teething issues in the performance. It would be worth checking out each game's communities to see if similar behaviour is being witnessed on the console.

Thanks Jordan, appreciate you're trying to be helpful but thats such a base level of advice and comment that it's not. It's clearly a very specific issue linked to a newly issued device (which came out after the update to which you refer as i understand it), and we've found that at least two of us here have the same issue. The hdmi being used is the one that is issued with the ps5 pro so it will be compatible. Feedback needs to be passed to Samsung and a fix issued, so hopefully they monitor these forums. I've separately raised with Samsung directly

Appreciate you have a lot of threads to moderate but a bit of consideration of the actual issue rather than a default response would be far more useful

It is good practice to always start with the basics. That way, simple or obvious steps aren't missed when pinpointing the cause. Even though the supplied cable is compatible, it is still worth swapping this out for another high speed 2.1 8K HDMI cable. Blackouts when connected to an external device will often boil down to an issue with the cable currently being used. So don't rule this step out just yet!

Feel free to let us know of any other troubleshooting steps you have tried to remedy this, as that will allow our community to give further advice.
