IMG_0838.jpegI purchased a Q90T 65” LCD directly from Amazon in May 2020. Six months later it developed “vertical banding” – see attached figures. Samsung sent out a technician who looked at the display and said that I must have damaged the screen “somehow.” That was ridiculous as we have not moved this TV since it was unboxed and installed – it weighs 85 pounds. Any thoughts?

Have you tried a factory reset ?

On your "not so smart " remote press Info + Settings + Mute + Power which will get you into "service menu " . You select "options " and then "factory reset "

Well then, if you still have warranty left , just send it back 🙂

That TV is clearly smashed. You won't get anywhere with returning it. I hope you have home contents insurance!

This TV weighs 85 lb and sits in an alcove in our living room - it has not been moved or damaged. Samsung is known to have LCD TV problems: https://www.consumeraffairs.com/home_electronics/samsung_tv.html

My next TV will be an LG or SONY.

Amazon refused to take it back. They said to contact Samsung.

After ~ 6 weeks SAMSUNG agreed to replace the LED panel under warranty and I now have a basically new TV.  Thanks to Van in SAMSUNG customer care.
