Q90R No Signal from Windows 10 PC with Input Signal Plus Enabled

Hi All,

I'm having some fun and  games with my Q90R having connected it up to my Windows 10 desktop PC (via NVIDIA 1080GTX HDMI 2.0 port). I'm currently trying to get HDR working from the PC on this screen at any resolution 1080p 30Hz/60Hz, 4K 60Hz, but there seems to be what I can only describe as some sort of handshake type issue between the TV and the PC because as soon as I enable "Input Signal Plus" on the HDMI port at the TV, the TV loses signal and my primary monitor flickers continously as it detects the TV and then drops connection. This problem also persists whilst using only the Samsung Q90R too. As soon as "Input Signal Plus" is turned off, it all works just fine, only I cannot enable HDR at all. It works flawlessly at 4k 60Hz, 1080P 120Hz but this is baffling m.

I've tried a variety of short HDMI 2.0 cables which I know work from my PS4 Pro and XBOX One X (1.5m - 2m length), and have tried using all of the HDMI ports from the One Connect box, but the problem persists. I do have a HW-Q70R soundbar also connected to the One Connect box with ARC enabled, and will look at eliminating that shortly.

If anyone else has had a similar problem and found a way to get HDR working via Input Signal Plus without the Windows PC having a total head-fit and found a solution they could share, I'd be most appreciative. I've had a search on the forum and spent a couple hours on google but didn't turn up a whole lot.

Kind regards.

Q90R works fine with my pc connected via an nvidia 1070.
Currently running at  3840x2160, 60Hz, 12bpc, YCbCr422.

2020 is over and the issue still persists with latest firmware 1371. I have an RX 5600 XT and Input Signal Plus can't be enabled yet. Freesync Ultimate which offers the wider Hz range doesn't work because of this.

Yes, very annoying. I actually upgraded to 1372 yesterday, but still no luck 😞

I'm experiencing the same issue after stepping up from a 2080S to a 3080 (through EVGA's program). Now I experience the same problem. Since I'm still in my original warranty period, Samsung is going to send a new One Connect Box. Hopefully that resolves the issue, but based on others input in this thread, I'm not holding my breath. This issue has caused me a lot of grief since I get to spend the only few hours I have to game/week fighting with the TV and PC.

Just change your resolution to 1080p or 1440p before enabling input signal plus. Worked for me and my q75r/1070ti.

If you can't turn on hdr after just go to nvidia control panel -> resolution -> default.

I also disconnected other monitors from gpu but idk if that helped.

I have the q90T and had an issue using intelligent plus as I needed to use game mode and 120hz, but even 4k 60hz was causing the picture to drop out.  So, having enabled it and the picture dropped, I remoted to my PC using Team Viewer or Moonlight streaming (for Nvidia) from my laptop I went to Nvidia Control Panel to select the 4k/120Hz resolution under the PC section of the list

and once done I then rebooted the PC.  Seems the picture stays in sync once the signal is initialsied(?) from post and gets into windows.  But if the pc goes to sleep or someone changes the channel for some time, the signal might not come back in which case you need to reboot again.  Not sure if that info might help anyone.

I have 3070gtx. Trying to get to 8k resolution. Anytime I put on 'Input Signal Plus' it crashes. Has anyone managed to get to true 8k resolution on this monitor yet?!
