Or a potential fix. After pulling out my hair like so many of you while trying to get this to work without horrid black crush, I set the "HDMI Black Level" to normal, not low or auto. This produced a far better image that I was able to calibrate to something clear and appealing (gamma adjustments too, had to crank it right up). Hope this helps. Regardless, Samsung and MS need to work on a proper fix/ adjustment.
Edit: Further testing leaves a washed out image and has introduced flickering. VRR remains busted.
