Q60R and Headphones

Hi,

I have a Samsung Q60R (43”), bought just a couple of weeks ago and cannot get any of my 3 sets of headphones to work on the TV.

With my previous TV, I simply plugged my Pioneer headphones into the Headphones socket and I could listen quite happily. It had a 10m cable, so I could sit on the settee comfortably and listen.

The three headphones I have are: -

Pioneer SE-M631TV – these are cabled and there are no ports suitable on the back of the TV.

Plantronics Voyager 4220 – this is a Bluetooth wireless headset, with a USB-A adaptor. I’ve plugged the USB adaptor into the TV and played with the sound input settings, however that did not work. I’ve since read that the USB ports on the TV are for storage rather than for headphones.

AKG Y500 Wireless – these work with my Samsung phone, but the TV cannot locate the Bluetooth. It isn’t recognised. I’ve searched for it on the TV, with no luck.

Can anyone offer any advice, please? My preference is to use the AKG ones, then the Plantronics, however even the Pioneer ones would be welcome!

Many thanks,

Rich

Thanks again @TessM,
The AKG Headphones did eventually connect via Bluetooth, yet I was almost sat on the TV to get them to connect. Oddly enough, walking back to my original location keeps the connection active.

Hey @RichJW ,

can you confirm which software version is the TV currently running on? I can see that the latest one is version 1356.2. This can be checked from: Settings> Support> About this TV/Contact Samsung.

I have also checked the TV ports and this one is now having a headphone jack entrance so you won't be able to connect these directly. However, you can try to plug them into the optical audio port using a Digital to Analog adapter.

In relation to the Bluetooth sets, have you checked with the manufacturers if they are compatible with the TV? Have you tried to connect any other device to the TV using Bluetooth?

Hi @TessM ,

Thanks for the reply.

Software Version is 1356.2.

I haven't checked with the manufacturers, so I'll do some googling and see if anything is out there. I'm not sure if I have any other bluetooth devices, although I could try the mobile phone (which automatically connects through SmartThings).

Thanks,

Rich
