Led TV Screen randomly flashes bright white when off (standby)

I've a Samsung led smart TV 40inch not sure on the model number can get it if needed. But the screen has just plused a bright white light for less than a second while off (on standby mode) only noticed as it was in the middle of the night. 

Has anyone else had this and more importantly is it safe? 

Don't think the TV is a year old yet.

Thank you for the insight! The flash happens right when I turn the TV off. So I don’t think it’s an issue with the standby. I also tried to post this on the US community however, the site rejects my post. 

UPDATE: the flashing is getting worse and has caused some issues with pixels occasionally.

Mine did this and will not turn on, tried all the fixes and will still not turn on, no standby light, completely dead, never will I buy another Samsung tv, utter ***** !!

My 55" LED flashes randomly while on standby. It's not a problem, but it catches me by surprise sometimes. I'd love to know what causes it!

My TV does this. I've just witnessed it. I'd just woken up from a bad dream. Seeing the TV flash did not help my state of mind. Its quite un-nerving. I was hoping to find out what makes it happen.

Staying in a hotel room with a giant Samsung smart TV on the wall at the bottom of my bed.  Woke up to screaming outside and then the TV flashed…legit thought that the Grudge lady was going to climb out 😂.  Glad for this thread to set my mind at ease!

Did you recently install a TV mount to the back of your TV?

We had the same issue with our very new Samsung smart TV- the TV would not turn on, screen was black but pulsed a white screen when plugged in.

Someone came to fix it and identified that the back screws of the recently installed TV mount were on too tight, causing an electrical arc (effectively a short circuit). This was causing the pulsing light.

After he fixed it, he said that if it happened again, loosen the mount's screws, unplug then re-plugin the TV.
