I have a FrameTV and it's lovely to show my family photos and others downloaded off the Internet. The only thing missing is the ability to sort photos in to folders/albums or extend the favourite system to allow tagging of photos with a custom tag.
If this was possible then you could start a sideshow from a folder/tag and hence control what you wanted to display - i.e. StarWars day (May 4th), American Independence day (July 4th), etc
It would also allow a bit of photo management on the TV to group photos together.
Thanks

I also need the ability to sort into new folders. My wife and I are artists, and sometimes we want to use the frame to showcase her art, sometimes my art, sometimes family photos. It’s useless to have them all mixed up in one giant folder. PLEASE add the ability to sort images into folders. I’d like to buy a second frame TV but can’t do so without that feature.

It’s such a shame that after all this time they’re still not listening to their customers.

The Frame now has art TV competition: HiSense CanvasTV and TCL NXTFRAME. I haven't found any info on how they manage uploaded art, but hopefully this competition will prompt Samsung to finally make improvements.

4 years since this initial post and still nothing.

Come on, Samsung! When I finished installing this TV I was looking forward to having different "shows" of my trips and my artistic work. That was, until I discovered (it's not in the manual) that you can only have one folder. This feature request is nearly 5 years old. It's frustrating to wait this long for something so simple. Is anyone from Samsung actually reading these? I'm a programmer and the effort to make a firmware update with a multiple folder feature is pretty basic. Right now, in order to have multiple collections of photos, I'm using flash drives for each topic and switching them out on different days or occasions. This effort, though simple, isn't something most users will have the skill for. So a firmware update with this feature will find a pretty big audience. How about it, Samsung?

Two years ago I was also disappointed and posted a similar message to this forum. Like you, I use different folders via USB.... but it's very time-consuming, and a poor substitute. If you want to use the slideshow feature, you will have to delete all images from your TV every time you change folders.
I have only ever seen one official reply from Samsung in this forum, and it was just them confirming they do not have a feature that everyone is asking for. I called out an engineer to help, but he had no knowledge or interest in the Art TV functions.
There are several alternative Art TV products (LG Gallery, HiSense, TCL, etc.) , so hopefully at least one of them will put some effort into designing a usable device.

You'd think after 5 years or so of requests something would be added to the Samsung Frame TV options. Adobe isn't any different. Some feature requests go on for decades without any action.

Since Samsung apparently isn't interested in this, is there someone who can step up to the plate? Perhaps develop software or find a simple solution to the problem and share it with everyone?
A solution that would allow us to create multiple libraries containing images according to our preferences,
and distribute this solution among ourselves?

This board is basically we help each other, now as we all know this isn't a knowledge issue because if it was we would have shared a solution.
I have been in the IT industry for a very long time, and understand both hardware & software, development, servers and all that fun stuff. I have setup over 30 of these beatuful TV's including my own, so I revist this issue regularly.
The reality is someone from Samsung would actually have to give a *****, and respond to try and point someone in the right direction as to how *possibly* they would be willing to give an outside company control to this part of the firmware. Thats probably not happening. Sorry to say it that way, but thats the reality.
I couldn't even find out how I could possibly create a subscription my custom images just like the other libraries available. If you don't have the magic person to push the button, your outta luck.
Since I have servers, I have programming knowledge and can actually do it, I would consider it, but again, someone from Samsung would have to step up and push this information to the right person who can press that button.

It's interesting to see this thread rumbling on some two and half years after I originally commented on it. When the TV first came out I had hopes of Samsung continuing to nurture the USP of their Frame TV but sadly I think ongoing software development for boxed off the shelf hardware products like televisions is sadly neglected compared to, for example, software which is developed and sold for personal computers (after all, Samsung are in the business of selling televisions, not developing excellent software). The focus seems to be to bang out some software which meets minimum viable product, ship it and forget it. Oh well. I wonder if any television manufacturers out there would be bold enough to support use of 3rd party and/or open source software solutions (which are often far better supported and more feature rich as they're maintained by enthusiasts writing software to provide facilities that they themselves want and use).
