New firmware is out Is there any good news and is it worth updating?

I’ve only noticed a time issue but we had a sound sync issue on the last FW but it was resolved with another update Samsung put out.

I just bought a 75” QN90B for €950 and love it but I updated it the first time I turned it on and I see a blurry image bug in hdr content as if there’s a noise reduction that keeps going on and off repeatedly, settings that have no effect whatsoever such as contrast and sharpness…
Its clear this update messed things up a lot, I can return it on Monday but is it the right call? Do you suggest to keep it and wait for Samsung to solve the issue with a new update?

You are not the only one! It’s a sort of filter that smoothens and blurs the image, it kicks in and then reverts back to normal and it keeps repeating. You can see it with slightly out of focus uniform backgrounds, they suddenly lose all texture and then back to normal every half seconds.
It was definitely difficult for me to pinpoint the issue to the update as I bought this tv just 2 days ago!

It won’t fix it. Basically if I factory reset my TV it works fine but as soon as I change mode or settings (as if one of the sharpening screen settings changes) it triggers this bug and there’s no way to make it go away even I revert the original settings. Auto, Off or Custom with all the sliders to 0 won’t get rid of the issue unfortunately. SDR works fine (the sharpness slider also works and so does the Tint one)

If you have it off for HDR content you may had it on for SDR content (a useful feature honestly). Regardless, I can’t stand a product having these many issues so I returned it, even if the deal was great.

I have the same TV and yes it is exactly the problem ... it definitely came with this last update, the previous one had no such issues. Well it seems like you returned the TV already, if you couldn't deal with it I think you did the right choice anyway. Before this mess the TV has been amazing honestly, so i will at least wait for the new update to drop, but it most likely going to be months before that comes though ...
