Hi, I just purchased the 4K S85D TV and was hoping to understand how to enable 120hz for gaming. I currently have my PS5 plugged into HDMI port 1 and the screenshot I took below shows “3840x2160 / 60p Input Signal Plus”. Is there something I’m missing here?

Have you been in the PS5 settings?
Go to "Settings" → "Save Data and Game/App Settings" → "Game Presets" → "Performance Mode or Resolution Mode" → "Performance Mode". To check display input, go to "Settings" → "Screen and Video" → "Video Output" → "120 Hz Output" → "Automatic".

I can confirm that display input for 120 Hz Output is indeed set to Automatic. I did just change to Performance Mode in Game Presets, however I’m still seeing the same “3840x2160 / 60p Input Signal Plus” when selecting HDMI 1

According to the samsung link. HDMI port 4 is designed for best gaming performance. Try HDMI port 4. Hopefully this will be the answer 🤞1729663363421.jpg

Gave this a try as well but getting the same result. I believe this makes sense as they advertise that all HDMI ports are 2.1 enabled on the 2024 models…I’m going to attempt trying a new HDMI cable tomorrow to see if that makes any difference.

I know my partner and son bought new leads for a similar reason. To only find no change from the lead that came with the PS5. Remember PS5 do not play every game at 120hz. Try and find out if the game itself should be running at 120hz. Of course try another lead if you wish, just thought I'd mention just so you don't waste money have the problem. The PS5 lead isn't exactly the greatest so wouldn't harm if you did. Hope you end up resolving the issue. May also need to look in the game settings, maybe there is a setting within the actual game. Also check while actually in game what it is running at. The menu may run at 60hz.

You’re right, it is game dependent! I tried a different game and can confirm 120hz showed up automatically. Thanks for your help!

FYI there is an up-to-date list of 120hz enabled PS5 games here: https://www.reddit.com/r/PS5/comments/12wsfcg/list_of_120hz_supported_ps5_games/

Also, if your tv has game mode, ensure game mode is on otherwise the 120hz won't work, you'll get a message your tv doesn't support VRR, but it does, it's just game mode isn't on.

Same error. My tv QE50Q80T.

That's why I bought this TV. I'm starting to think I would have been better off with a cheaper LG TV. 120Hz and VRR. Unfortunately, it still recognizes 120Hz, but in the absence of VRR, the maximum is only 60. Everything is turned on on both the PS5 and the TV, the cable is factory-fitted. " your tv doesn't support VRR"
