We recently purchased the Samsung S95BA.

our son placed his grubby hands on the screen.

we followed Samsung’s instructions using a micro fibre cloth and no liquid, gently rubbing and now we have like a smudged area which is different to the rest of the TV

please can someone advise the best way to clean?

Hi @NA74  Smudges are best cleaned with a small amount of water on the microfibre cloth , rub gently though. Water should never  be applied to the screen directly.   once the screen is cleaned  remove any moisture  with a dry microfibre cloth.

Some information here:

After getting some fingerprint smudges on the panel during installation. I tried every suggestion online and nothing worked out just made the smudges bigger. Eventually I used spectical wipes wrapped over a roll of kitchen towel. It worked perfectly and now the screen looks brand new again.

I have a S95B and it’s was a nightmare to clean.  I wanted a completely clean screen that was perfect when it was off. No streaking, fingerprints,  blue haze.  Nothing!!  I wanted it looking like I just bought it new.  It took me over a year to finally get a solution. It’s a bit of an extreme technique but my patience was wearing thin.  I seen a semi solution in a a/v forum about the “breath” technique. That’s where you huff onto the tv to fog it. (like a mirror in a bathroom when the steam first hits the bathroom mirror.) then wipe immediately and it does work ok. Then I thought I would take way to long to do that on a 65inch tv and wasn’t practical. So I got my iron (yeah a legit clothes iron with a steam feature that has a botton to control when you want steam.  I stood back about a foot or two and did a burst of steam just enough to fog the screen and before it could evaporate I used a microfiber to wipe dry. This worked like magic!!! Screen was perfect when I got done within a minute or two the whole screen was done TO PERFECTION!  I know I took a risk by doing this but I’m so glad I tried. Just be careful not to blow hot steam on your screen. Stand back and do the steam can cool as it leaves the iron on its way to the screen.  You just want a fog effect then wipe with clean microfiber immediately.  I assume as well you could use a “cool mist” humidifier with distilled water as well I just didn’t have one so I resorted to carefully using the irons steam mist function. I hope that helps. And I know it seem so ridiculous but I really can’t stress enough the fantastic results. The blue haze and cat nose prints fingerprints and streaks not to mention what I thought was damage but wasn’t at all is totally and completely gone. It’s the only way to get perfect results
