**Help**

My Samsung TV is no longer playing videos whenever I try to access them via websites on the Web Browser within the TV.
UHD9000 series is my TV..
Does anyone have any tips on fixing this?

Please advise..

Thanks in advance!

Well, it seems they don't. My guess is they would've done something about it by now otherwise.
On the other hand, it is highky unlikely they are unaware of the issue. It's been going on for so long, it's making me think it's not an error but purposely done. In which case I feel cheated and it's a great disappontment for all of us fooled Samsung users. Can't belive myself for buying Samsung TVs for each and every room! Will never recommend any of their profucts anymore!

I have a new Q60R and when I try and play videos from the web, after about 2 minutes of play I get "failed to prepare video sample for decode".  I upgraded from a Hisense (which I could play web videos on) and I have to say I'm seriously disappointed with this TV.  What's the point of internet capability if we can't watch web content?  Surely someone from Samsung is monitoring this forum and can respond with either a solution or advise if a fix is coming ???

Before Covid-19 I did not surf on the Samsung TV web brouser.  The last few weeks when we tried to stream metopera.org and "www.nationaltheatre.org.uk".  The streaming shows would get about half way through and we would get a screen lockup with a message: "the source buffer is full, and cannot free space to append additional buffers".

We would revert to our desktop computer and watch the entire show with no problem.  We have 374 mb/sec fiber internet and do not have a internet problem.  I went through all the dianostics and had no problems.

We called COSTCO conserige service today and hoped they would get us to a Samsung Tech.  They handled the problem themselves.  After about 1 hour we were told to do the following:

1. power off the TV,

2. Unplug the TV

3.  Hold the power off button on the TV for 60 seconds.

4 .  Restart the TV, and in settings, reset to operating system to original factory settings.  Before you do this make sure you have all app usernames and passwords.

5.  The TV restarted, all the apps we had move or deleted were reinstalled in their original order.

6.  Make sure you also update the firmware form SETTINGS and comfirm it reprort update successful.

Tech said that one or more of the auto firm ware auto updates probably failed to install properly.

Watched one Metopera tonight and one play from "national thertre.org.uk" with no buffering problems.

Why has Samsung not made this recommendation known to its customers?

I literally can't watch any video on the browser besides when i visit YouTube website there is a notification from YouTube website informing me that they will stop supporting this version of browser soon and that i should uodate my browser. I to reset the TV setting but didn't help. I really can't imagine how Samsung do such an awful thing.

I do not know if your problem is the same one I had.  I think a lot of problems are caused by firmware updates not acturately being uploaded.  You might want to do what I did and that was to reset the TV to its original factory settings "out of the box settings", then do an firmware update in Settings and see if that solves your problem.  Samsung has an auto update feature which operates without your knowledge.  You do not see the message "update sucessful" or "update failed" unless you do it manually while in settings.  Good luck.

I tried that suggestion from Bondtracker but it did not fix the issue.

For some reason I can also not access the firmware update in the settings. It is greyed out.

I just spoke to a Samsung support employee in the Netherlands. He immediately told me that it is not possible to play video's in the web browser because of security reasons. It is not a bug, Samsung did this on purpose. For me this is a big shame to a brand like Samsung. In this modern time everybody is watching/streaming video's from any place in the world on many different devices. Not being able to play a simple video (which plays without any issues on my Samsung S7 phone, so where is the security problem???) is something that can not be justified in any way by Samsung.
I also just sent a complaint to the Samsung CEO in the Netherlands and I suggest all of you to do the same in your country. Samsung needs to realize they make a big mistake with this and they will loose the TV market because of it.
