Whilst watching my 8-month old TV last night, the screen suddenly went black and hasn't come back since. The audio is still there. It doesn't matter what input I try - even unplugged all the inputs- still no picture just audio.  Any ideas anyone?

UPDATE: Jan 2022. Why oh why did I trust Samsung? This TV model is obviously faulty and yet they persist in fobbing off with promises of repairs that last a few months before recurring.

I should have taken notice of alarm bells after the first purchase was returned to Curry's after just a few days - as it kept switching itself off. It was replaced with the same model ; this one lasted six months. In June 2021, I reported the SAME fault and it was repaired. And then - another 6 months later (just before Xmas), it goes AGAIN - no picture. They came today to repair it - and they couldn't. "It's probably the motherboard" they say.

I am done with SAMSUNG. If they think I spent £2000 on this TV and now expect me to just let it rest then they're mistaken.

Hi Davy. Glad to hear they're sorting you out. Latest with me was they have repaired it again (this time changing the motherboard too) . It's been one week - so far is holding up.

Thanks for replies - had an engineer come back and replace screen last week - took about 30 mins in all - as can be seen on this forum - known problem and they fixed it pretty quick - fingers crossed it won't happen again but I'm going to buy an extended guarantee .. for anyone having the same problem - easiest way is to use the help facility and log a fault with Samsung .. they don't ask questions about warranty etc - just model number and serial no .. thanks

I am due to have my screen replaced in the next week, this is my second TV, the first failed after 7 months last year and this one after 6 months with the on off loop with no access to the screen as it was on and off so fast. I was lucky that I saw the early signs and was able to video the problem in the early stages and carry out all the diagnostic measures required by Samsung. Then eventually the screen was no longer available.

The most frustrating thing was dealing with the “expert” support. I told him many times that the screen could not be accessed at all, “yes I understand, can you go to settings and………..” god help me, this went on and on. Well hopefully we will get everything resolved with the new screen.

Bought my samsung QE55Q700 on May 2021 and suddenly, on february 6 2022 it just got a black screen and turns on and off without any intervention. I can see this on/off loop because the screen turn blue  for microseconds...  I'm going to use my warranty but I'll try to get ride of this tv asap... I was a big fan of samsung, but that's over!

Hi Folks

i’ve just had the exact same symptoms with a QE85Q950T 8K TV. I’m fairly certain it’s a motherboard issue on the One Connect box rather than the panel itself. If I force restart it using the remote (continue to hold power button) then I get the startup logo on screen and the channel number indicator on the right for a good ten seconds. Then the display blanks out (still with perfect audio) with the backlight still functioning and a flicker as inputs or channels changed.

I’ve been in touch with Samsung online chat supprt tonight and they’ve asked me to contact their repair reps:

GROUP FX LIMITED Unit 4 Barleylands, Barleylands Road, Billericay, Essex, CM11 2UD 01708 361 560

However even though the TV is still under manufacturer warranty it has a 5-year warranty through John Lewis - so I think that is probably the wisest route to pursue repairs, so that JLP can’t turn around and claim I’ve attempted repairs (even though it’s via Samsung UK agents) and not honour the 5-year warranty.

Thoughts?

thanks in advance.

I have been onto Samsung all week. Absolutely dreadful customer service. Called last week to say that the tv had broke, AGAIN.  Had to call back Monday,  was promised someone would call me within 24 to 48 hours. They didn't.

I called back Wednesday evening, and was promised they would call back tonresolve the situation Thursday.  They didn't.

Called back Friday,  and they are refusing to replace or refund, only repair.  They said they only offer a repair facility,  even though it has been replaced and repaired before, and the problem persists. Dreadful dreadful experience.  Definitely lost a customer. Even if this is repaired again, I will never purchase another Samsung TV. Seriously thinking of opening a small claims procedure, as the tv is obviously not for for purpose

I’m not sure if I’ve got the same issue as you guys, but I have the Samsung QE55Q700TATXXU. Mine, just none stop keeps turning on and off and keeps restarting, I’ve spoke to Samsung about the issue and they’re having none of it, so I’m not sure what my options are. It’s such a great TV, but they go wrong and Samsung doesn’t want to help, as I don’t have proof of purchase.
