Hello,

I hope that if you’re reading this you can help me fix my TV.

Last week I was casually playing on my Playstation, and randomly my screen froze, most of it went black/green and then it turned off and on again. I have tried to restart it, it worked fine for about 3 minutes but then the issue started happening again.

I have tried to message the technical support but I haven’t heard back from them since this issue happened. I have attached a photo and a video to better explain the issue.

I hope that someone can find a solution to this bizarre issue.

Mine was still under warranty, they ended up changing the hole panel. From what I have read online, it seems these panels were made during or at the beginning of the covid pandemic and dust got into them as quality control was lacking. Don’t know if this is true or not but I definitely read it somewhere when mine started doing the same, but one thing is for certain, quality is definitely lacking in this model.
A few years ago I only bought Sony TVs, (actually still have one from 2010 still working in my bedroom) then I heard that Samsung panels were the best ones and only bought Samsung for a decade….had a curved one that didn’t make it past 2 and a half years, then this one that didn’t even make it to 2 years…. One thing I leaned from all this, no more Samsung TVs from now on…

Best of luck to you! And sorry for the long post.

I have the same problem. My TV was purchased direct from Samsung over 2 years ago and it seems that there are lots of tv's of this age with the same issues. I believe this to me a manufacturing defect and should be eligible for repair in line with consumer rights legislation. The legislation states items should be of satisfactory quality and last a reasonable length of time. This must be raised with the retailer rather than the manufacturer but is virtually impossible as Samsung (online sales) do not have a complaints procedure and keep referring the matter to Samsung technical (manufacturer). Although this is very frustrating I will be re-sending my complaint to Samsung House, 2000 Hillswood Drive, Chertsey, Surrey, KT16 ORS before submitting the case to small claims court.

Quick update - got absolutely nowhere with Samsung, as you all know they point blank refuse to do anything at all. However, Hughes (the retailer I purchased the TV from) are offering to cover half of the total repair cost of £300 or £300 store credit to use against the purchase of a new TV. It’s not ideal but it puts Samsung to shame and is the best I’m going to get. I will be opting for the latter, buying any TV not made by Samsung and never purchasing a Samsung product again. Never been treated this poorly by any company in my life

Same here. My 4th Samsung TV as others lasted year (one over a decade). This is scandalous. I will do all I can to bad mouth Samsung for this. Spent the most I've ever spent on a TV to barely make it to 3 years. Very angry with Samsung and appears the simply dont care

Oh man, I’ve just experienced the same problem with my tv and searched the internet to find a solution and found this thread. Not filled with confidence that this will get fixed.

Bought the TV in Dec 2020 almost 3 years to the day (suspiciously). And now experiencing the exact issue as described.

I have booked in a repair for this Friday. Let’s see what the engineer says.

I have sent an email to BBC WatchDog.

Will keep you updated…

Identical issue here. TV died suddenly yesterday, almost 3 years old to the day.  TV otherwise in pristine condition.   Green blurs  at bottom of screen and intermittent on and off identical.  I've always insisted on Samsung electricals due to their superior quality, but an expensive TV set should not die before the age of three. My previous 40 inch Samsung is 14 years old and working perfectly in a bedroom. Samsung need to acknowledge this fault and find a resolution, this is not a reasonable life span for a hardly used TV.

I'm having same issue with a similar model. 19 months after purchase. Warranty has expired and service charge + part = £415.00. More than what I paid originally. And, because the warranty has expired, Samsung can't do anything about it. Total disappointment.
