Hello,

I hope that if you’re reading this you can help me fix my TV.

Last week I was casually playing on my Playstation, and randomly my screen froze, most of it went black/green and then it turned off and on again. I have tried to restart it, it worked fine for about 3 minutes but then the issue started happening again.

I have tried to message the technical support but I haven’t heard back from them since this issue happened. I have attached a photo and a video to better explain the issue.

I hope that someone can find a solution to this bizarre issue.

Signed up to just to add to this thread to say I’m experiencing the exact same issue with my 2 years 7 months old QE50Q60TAU model TV. Reported to Samsung who of course will only ‘help’ by way of a chargeable repair and continuously refer to it being out of warranty like that somehow makes it more acceptable. It’s both disgraceful and shameful that they’re getting away with this when they’ve clearly sold a defective product to so many consumers

I’m writing to trading standards/ombudsman about this.. warranty on products as expensive as the cost of this tv should defiantly have a warranty of more than 1 year! In the EU Samsung tvs come with 2 year warranty.. where as Samsung UK is 1.. Samsung are selling this model in EU countries too! It’s disgusting, they shouldn’t be getting away with it..

I have just posted re similar issue with my sons tv.  Just out of warranty and screen /tv playing up and restarting /flickering.  This cannot be acceptable surely and Samsung need to take it on the chin and consider recalls.  TVs going bad just after warranty on such a mass scale is not good for business surely.  I have never come across tvs not lasting at least 5 years ever.  There is a clear quality breach.  Does anyone know how to Perdue this further through some sort of ombudsman??  Thanks.  To put it into perspective Sainsbury brand Celcus TV with HD 3D 48” screen £300 is now almost 9 yrs old and going strong.  You are supposed to get better from more mainstream reputable companies ?

Does anyone know how I can report to the ombudsman? Never had to do it before as other companies I’ve had issues with have at least come to some sort of compromise by this stage. I’m trying to report on the Dispute Resolution Ombudsman website but it just says that Samsung aren’t registered with the Dispute Resolution Ombudsman and an independent inspection has a fee of £150?? My next step is the small claims court

My QE50 just started this last night 1 year out of warranty, I cannot believe a company the size of Samsung knows this problem but will not fix it! I'm medically retired so can't afford a new TV

I have today submitted a report to Trading Standards - suggest everyone does the same! Have also sent them a Letter Before Court Action and if a satisfactory response is not received within 14 days will be taking to small claims. Will post any updates.

just had the same thing happen to me, black screen that flickers occasionally. standby light flashing in sets of 2. Going straight out to buy Sony ( last one lasted 10 yrs and still going) but will hang on to the TV and see what happens, good luck with Trading Standards. Interesting to see Samsung replied so quickly to the initial post then went missing, their silence speaks volumes. Never buying Samsung again and will ward others off

Got the same issue, with the same model QE50Q60TAU; screen dying just  1 month after guarantee period. Could Samsung please take some responsibility on this, which clearly shows to be problem with the series ??

My son’s television, same model has just developed exactly the same fault comes on screen is fine then switches off as if the remote is being pressed as the red light at the bottom flashes twice then flicks off and on again but with a strange screen. I left it doing this for 30mins where occasionally the full picture would come up and then go off and then just a black lit screen with colour around the edges.  I have included a video.  I have phoned Samsung and spoke with the technical department firstly then the complaints department.  I mentioned this thread and said how can do many people develop the same fault and it not be a technical fault within their manufacturing process.  I advised I would be contacting Watchdog and trading standards about this as I have two of these tvs one is this and the other is the same model but a 75inch screen which together set me back £1,800.00. I have 5 Samsung TVs, 2 of which are around 7 years old so would expect the same longevity from these but at just over 2 to say I am disgusted would be an understatement.
