I have a Samsung QN9OC. It did a software update yesterday and now the my apps icon has disappeared. There no longer appears to be any facility to search for apps in the app store. Anyone else having this issue or have a fix? As usual Samsung support on Twitter have been no help.

you can still search for apps to download by clicking on the magnifying glass on the left. If it doesn't appear then the app isnt available. Also if you go to the apps tab at the top and scroll all the way down you should see the different app genres.

I have the same problem. When the TV came out of the box there was the APP icon onthe home screen. Then I performed software update and it disappeared. The home screen is showing a big Samsung picture with a selectable text Discover - Apps but both selections only lets me search for video, no apps arr showing up. I

t looks to me like there is some kind of security setting not allowing me to install whatever on this Business TV.

Is there something like administrator login???

Press Home.   There are three options on the screen.   Click the last one - apps.

This will display two lists—apps you can install and those you have already installed. Go to the end of the list of installed apps. There, you will see a symbol with three lines and a pen. When you select it, it says "edit list. " Click on that, and then you can perform actions on the installed apps. Prime is not working right now,, so I reinstalled it several times. It is still not working, but I sometimes get a message that Prime has a problem.

Thanks for replying Bill-Hobba. It is the actual App icon that you see on the left of this picture that we do not have.

I had a call with the French support team. Unfortunately my screen is a business monitor and its primarily use is for advertising. So, the firmware isn’t allowing any kind of apps to be installed.

So, now I have to add an Apple TV to have AirPlay for screen mirroring and to be able to install Apps.

A little bit disappointing, but the price + Apple TV is still much cheaper than a regular TV.

Any of you use ad blockers of any sort?  I had the exact same problem after updating my Samsung Frame last night.  Took a look at my Pi-Hole logs.

unblocking the following seemed to fix the problem:

Yes. updated last week and the apps icon is gone. A lot of time wasted searching preferences, the Internet, etc. which led me here. This is a serious screwup, Samsung. How in the hell am I supposed to manage my apps?

To the Moderator: is there a fix yet? How can I download an app that I’m using on other non Samsung tv’s??? Why did they take the icon away and replace it with a “smart things” icon?
