Hello everyone,

I bought the galaxy tab a9 and the case for the table and the case does not wake and sleep the tablet when opening or closing the case. There is no setting for this functionality in the settings of tablet. There should be the Accessories menu under the setting Advanced features, but i have not the Accessories menu in the settings Advanced features.

Help me please how to turn on the Wake/sleep function of the case

Thank you

Ulevel

Yeah, I wonder does this tablet even support this feature?

I have a very old LG Tablet, a 2020 Samsung Galaxy S6 Lite, and now recently the Samsung Galaxy Tab A9 8.7".

Using a magnet, I can very easily cause the screen on the LG and S6-Lite to turn off.

For the LG, you swipe from the middle of the screen on the left side towards the right side (for about 2 inches) and the screen turns off.  For the S6 Lite, the same trick works - but the sensor is near the top left of the screen [not in the middle].

With my Tab A9 8.7", I am not able to reproduce the screen on / off function using a magnet.

Does anyone own a case for the A9 that does perform the wake / sleep functionality?

If so, could they tell us WHERE in the lid of the case are the magnets located?

[just pass something metal e.g. a teaspoon or whatever over the case lid, if it has magnets you will notice where]

Note that usually, the magnets for this functionality are in the CASE not in the device.
Also, some cases have a few magnets on the right side of the case (not the lid) - but these are just to help keep the lid closed, they are not related to the smart wake / sleep functionality.

cheers!

A9 Offical Book Case does NOT support Sleep Wake functionality.pngit appears to me that this Tablet does NOT support that functionality.  So the issue is the tablet itself, not the case.  See reviews online here of the official "Book" case for the Tab A9:

https://www.samsung.com/sa_en/mobile-accessories/galaxy-tab-a9-book-cover-black-ef-bx110tbegww/

Both reviewers point out how disappointing it is that the case does not support wake / sleep tablet on open close case.  If the official case does not have that functionality, then it would seem likely that it is the Tablet not the case that lacks this functionality.

But of course, always easier for a company to claim that it is YOU or YOUR accessory that is the problem - not the product.  *****

If you find info to the contrary, or a product that does support this functionality then please let us know.

cheers!
