Factory Reset Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra

About a week ago i got my new tablet and had been using Fingerprint to unlock, now all of a sudden it wants a password and ive not a clue what it is.  Every time i try an factory reset it using the Power Button an Volume buttons, best i manage is to get into Safe Mode which again wants the password.  Find My Device//Smart Find thing cant find my Tablet Geographic wise so wont erase data that way....so im at a complete loss and hoping i havent got myself a very expensive paper weight.

Whenever it restarts/turns off and back on it will ask for the password you've set up. Sometimes it will randomly ask for the password as well as a security measure.

Do you have a PC/Laptop you could plug the tablet into? If so, plug it in then press and hold volume down and power button for about 15 seconds, when it boots down change to volume up and power button and keep holding into it boots into recovery mode. Select option, using volume down, for factory reset then power button to confirm.

If unable to get into recovery. Call Samsung Support for a repair to be done but, it'll be chargeable as it's not a manufacturering defect.

All the Power Cables i have are USB-A to USB-A .. none of them connect to the PC...Guess i'll have to go an Buy a Cable that'll connect my Tablet to the PC

@Morpheus1101: I'm sorry to hear that you have encountered this issue. Please note that, when setting up Fingerprint biometrics to unlock your tablet, you will have been prompted to enter a backup PIN/password, as this is required periodically for verification purposes under the following conditions.

  • If you have used and unlocked the device using Biometrics including Fingerprints or Facial recognition in the past 24 hours.
  • If 4 hours pass without an additional unlock operation after unlocking your device using Fingerprints or Facial recognition.
  • If 72 hours pass after unlocking your device using a PIN, Pattern or Password while fingerprint is set as screen lock type.

This is an intended response for enhanced security of your device. Additionally, you can only use a PIN, Pattern or Password to unlock the screen after restarting the device or when you don’t use the device for more than 24 hours.

I managed to get it reset, but once again, due to not using it only every few days or so, its now again asking for a PIN number, but i never set a pin number up, only finger print recognition.  Does this mean that once again, im going to have to factory reset my devoice and re-set it all up?
