Predictive Back Gesture Animations

I've noticed a few more apps are now using predictive back animations (where the back animation slides with the swipe gestures and shows a peak of the previous screen, similar to iOS). It's mostly Google apps so far like Messages but I noticed the new Home Up app uses them too (videos attached).

It would be nice if these were implemented throughout the system and Samsung apps as they add a nice natural flow to things. Weirdly the stock android settings menu has support for it but Samsung seems to have deliberately disabled it in their settings app

Seems like the video embed doesn't work for some reason but basically the plays the back animation as you swipe rather than waiting until you've fully swiped and then plays the animation. I've attached some screenshots but it's kind of hard to show it (the red arrow shows the finger position)Screenshot_20250206_104908_Home Up_1000037745_1738839053.pngScreenshot_20250206_104914_Home Up_1000037746_1738839082.png

I'm on the beta and home up doesn't even work for me anymore, and the option for predicted back button doesn't exist anymore either 🤔
      I don't understand

Yeah I had to manually install the APK for the new Home Up to get it. The option is missing from developer options for me too but it seems like it's enabled by default in One UI 7 (I tested with another phone on Android 14 to verify and Google Messages behaves the same as One UI 7 with it enabled)
