New dark mode system colour themed icons

The new icons in dark mode now have dark app images on a light background. Previously they were light on dark. This clashes completely with all the other UI elements such as widgets which have light coloured images and text on dark backgrounds when in dark mode. To my eyes they look flat and are way too light to be dark mode icons and just look wrong. Is this a bug? If not, can we at least have the option to choose between the previous light on dark icons and the new dark on light icon styles based on the system colour palette? Thank you.

Fair enough. But we shouldn't have to use 3rd party icon packs to get icons that match the rest of the ui. We've had dynamic system colour theming since Android 12. So coloured icons, apps and widgets should all match coherently no matter what wallpaper we happen to select.

It's stuff like this that makes me want to switch back to Pixel phones.

Technically theme park is a first party app, but I agree. I'm using a different launcher so I've not seen the icons myself.

I think these are bugged... They don't look that good honestly. They should revert to how they looked with 6.1.1

Agreed! I had a feeling the UI looked off and you're correct. The rest of UI is light elements on a predominantly dark background. It needs inversion.
