Lock screen improvements

Here's some suggested improvements I'd like to be made to One UI 7's lock screen

image

  • Depth effects, so the clock and date sit behind the subject. Can utilise Galaxy AI branding
  • Rounded lock screen widgets, for improved consistency with the rest of One UI 7
  • Redesigned Media playback in NowBar, to highlight song title and artist name, with a pause button. More controls can be accessed by expanding.
  • Maybe even swipe gestures on the NowBar. Swipe to change song, or to dismiss timers, etc...
What are your thoughts? 🤔

The depth effect, does look cool. But jus makes it look even more identical to iOS, they need to stylise it to be more Samsung, which for me, means more funky animation style clocks instead, and infinity style wallpapers. It sucks that Samsung only allow their stock wallpapers to have an AOD>Lockscreen transition effect.
Swiping controls on the Now Bar, could be a fun option though

I'd like all these too, but regarding the clock behind the main subject feature, I wonder how practical that would be? It would have to be a pretty specific subject, with the right position to not obstruct too much of the clock etc. I'm all for it but not sure how I personally would use it.

The S24U stock wallpaper has an aod>lock>home animation. But I agree, it definitely needs to differentiate itself from iOS

A photo with a clear subject, like a portrait, could peek in front of the clock.

One UI can already do the hard part, separating the images, with features in Portrait Studio. And when using the cutouts in the wallpaper applier, portraits can stick out the frame. Now they should let the clock and date peek behind it. Looks classy

Hello @thatjoshguy69,

Wow thank you for sharing these and even preparing the mockups. If anybody else would like to see these changed - please let us know in the comments. If it gathers a lot of support, I will pass these suggestions to the relevant team

Have a great day!
