Smart tag won't control devices

I have just got a smarttag and set it up by pressing it etc and it's all set up OK for tracking etc. 

But under the "press" or "held" area of settings. When I click on to setting. The control devices is greyed out. 

I would like to press it and it turn on bedroom light etc.

To use this function, your SmartTag must be connected to your mobile device and your mobile device must have an internet connection (Wi-Fi or mobile data) to start the automation. Is this the case?

Yes.

I have fixed it. Smart things wasn't linked to my devices. I had to give it linking and permissions for the device manufacturer to talk to each other.
